Career Development for Alumni

Alumni Registration Fee

The registration fee provides access to FutureLinks, the online database of job postings exclusive to Pitt students and alumni, as well as individual career assistance. If enrolled you will be able to schedule on-campus, phone, or e-mail appointments with a career consultant or counselor, if you choose that option.

Alumni Career Services are free for the first academic year after your graduation.

Beyond the first academic year from graduation:

$15 for degree holding alumni who wish to obtain a FutureLinks account only.

$75 for degree holding alumni who are dues-paying members of the Pitt Alumni Association.

$150 for degree holding alumni who are not dues-paying members of the Pitt Alumni Association.

Enrollment is active for July 1, 2009 - June 30, 2010 for eligible alumni. Fees are not prorated nor are they refundable.

Attention Alumni (including the Class of 2009):

If you have already been a FutureLinks user and would like to continue your account, please email careers@pitt.edu and include your name, phone number and month & year of graduation.  Once received, our staff will reactivate your account.  Please note if a fee for service is due, activation will take place once payment is received (2 business days).

If you are a new user to FutureLinks, please log onto www.pittfuturelinks.com and request an account by clicking on student/alumni and completing an alumni registration.  Once verified you will receive an email providing your username and password.  Please note if a fee for service is due, activation will take place once payment is received (2 business days).


Programs and Services for Alumni

FutureLinks

Enrollment fee required if beyond one year from graduation date
Online database for job and internship postings in a job search engine designed exclusively for Pitt students and alumni. On FutureLinks you can search for employment opportunities and post your resume in the Online Resume Books for counselors and employers to view.

Individual Career Assistance

Enrollment fee required if beyond one year from graduation date
Make an appointment with a career counselor to discuss possible career changes or obtain valuable career advice. Call Career Services at 412-648-7130 to schedule an appointment on-campus, by phone, or by e-mail appointments with a career consultant or counselor.

Credential Services

Enrollment fee required if beyond one year from graduation date. Additional fees may apply.
Build a professional file of documents for entry into graduate school or specified professions.

Free
Online networking database for Pitt students and alumni. Search more than 2,000 alumni professional profiles to make valuable connections that may move your career forward.

Job Fairs

On-campus job fairs are free. Fees may apply to specific consortium events.
Visit calendar of at least eight annual job fairs hosted by Career Services and other consortiums.

Help Pitt Students and Other Alumni

Volunteer for the Pitt Career Network.
Register online. Students and other alumni can contact you for career information and advice, for job search referrals, and more, as you specify.

To recruit, post jobs, and otherwise provide career opportunities to Pitt students and alumni, see information for employers.

Help students by joining the Panther's Shadow Program
The Panther’s Shadow program, or job shadowing, helps students research careers and allows the student to observe the field first-hand, in a short term experience.

Alumni are not eligible to participate in on-campus interviews.

Career Services is available to University of Pittsburgh students and alumni. Students and alumni from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, School of Law and Graduate School of Public and International Affairs should consult their respective career centers for assistance.
